Pastor Richard
At VICTORIOUS LIFE Independent BAPTIST CHURCH we believe and know that there is only one Way, and certain methodology to truly living victoriously in this world.
You first must know Him who is the Giver and Sustainer of life.
John 1:1,4 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. … In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
This Giver and Sustainer of Life is the eternal God who became a man so that we might have life.
John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
For those who have received Christ Jesus the Lord and seem to still struggle with the victorious life, the answer is to keep walking in the light of His glorious Word, looking unto Him for peace and power.
Colossians 2:6-7 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
Hebrews 12:1-3 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.
John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Matthew 28:18,20 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. ... and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Many have not the victorious life that is possible because they refuse to come to the life giving knowledge of the “the only begotten Son” of God because of a thing called sin, or evil deeds.
John 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
Many love this thing called sin due to the enjoyment it brings, but I must warn each of us that the enjoyment is short lived and the price is high.
Hebrews 11:25 … to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;
Titus 3:3 For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; …
Ezekiel 18:4 Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.
Isaiah 59:2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.
To know this One who is the Giver and Sustainer of life, thus enabling you to have victorious life, you must be willing to turn to Him from the works of death and personally trust Him as your only Deliverer from this death and into His life.
Ezekiel 33:11 Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; …
Colossians 1:13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
1Peter 2:9-10 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light: Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
If you have never yielded your life to the Lord Jesus Christ, the One who is our life, there is no way to truly have a victorious life over sin and self. (All the world’s programs, though they promise victory, have you continuously confessing defeat. For example, one program has those involved saying, “Hi! My name is ____________, and I am an alcoholic.” To have victory means that we can say with all confidence, “My name is ______________, and I used to be “whatever.”)
Please trust the Lord Jesus now, and start on the road of the Victorious Life.
2Corinthians 6:2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)
Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
